Dr. Namratha Swamy
Dr. Namratha Swamy is the Vice President of our Health Division and has more than 15 years of experience in monitoring and program evaluation, policy analysis, and the provision of evaluation technical assistance and training to a range of stakeholders.
Dr. Swamy is skilled in working with organizations and programs to identify their evaluation needs, to implement the appropriate methodology, and to articulate evaluation findings that are useful and practical for program improvement. Dr. Swamy has directed projects across a broad spectrum of substantive areas, including physical activity and nutrition, women’s health and wellness, nursing workforce diversity, vaccine injury, and health information technology. These projects involve a range of quantitative and qualitative methods and collaboration with Federal, State and local agencies, health care providers, and community-based organizations.
Dr. Swamy has led numerous evaluation projects involving formative research and process, outcome, and impact evaluation methods for a range of organizations, including the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF).
Prior to joining IMPAQ, Dr. Swamy worked as the Deputy Director for Programs and Evaluation in the Community Health Systems Division of Altarum Institute. In this role, she ensured the technical quality and sustainability of a diverse project portfolio in the primary practice areas of health promotion, program evaluation and performance measurement, behavioral health, maternal child health, and health equity.
Dr. Swamy earned her Ph.D. in Policy Science from the University of Maryland and her M.H.S. from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and Hygiene.
