Project Updates

Last week, IMPAQ provided monitoring and evaluation (M&E) training to Republika Srpska Ministry of Youth, Family, and Sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the Monitoring and Evaluation Support Activity (MEASURE-BiH), commissioned by USAID/Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the training, performance management and program evaluation experts from IMPAQ extensively discussed how a well-designed and rigorous M&E system, coupled with high quality data collection and analysis, can be used to support the implementation of Republika Srpska Youth Policy.

Publications & Presentations

Kris-Stella Trump’s peer-reviewed article, “The Polarizing Effect of the Stimulus: Partisanship and Voter Responsiveness to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act,” was published in Presidential Studies Quarterly. In the article, Kris-Stella Trump, Katherine Einstein, and Vanessa Williamson examine the effect of a sudden influx of government spending from the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Minh Huynh co-authored, “Batch model for batched timestamps data analysis with application to the SSA disability program,” which was accepted as an oral presentation at the 22nd Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (SIGKDD) International Conference. The conference is the premier international conference on machine learning and data mining. The manuscript is also to be published in the Proceedings of the 22nd ACM SIGKDD International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining 2016.

Good News @ IMPAQ

Congratulations to Zachary Miller who raised a total of $3,030 for The Y, Youth & Family Services. Zach coordinated “Paddle for the Y,” an event at our Columbia headquarters, that included a paddle boat race between IMPAQ President Avi Benus and IMPAQ VP Labor James Moore, and the opportunity for staff to take their own paddle boat rides. Forty-five employees purchased tickets to attend the event, raising $1,530. IMPAQ’s Corporate Social Responsibility program matched another $1,500. Congratulations Zach!
