The US Department of Labor recently published a literature review report, statistical analysis report, and issue brief from our assessment of labor force participation of older workers in the US. The reports help government agencies that support older workers craft effective policies directed toward these workers and provide a better understanding of trends can inform DOL and other federal agencies’ understanding of which policies will best support older workers and their labor market needs.
IMPAQ recently completed fielding an “Insights on Aging” survey for the AARP Foundation as a part of our Older Adults’ Concerns about Social Risk Factors and Aging project. The project explores the concerns that people have as they age with a focus on social risk factors and social determinants of health. The results will be used to inform our clients’ efforts to educate and engage adults around social risk factors, such as transportation, food security, mobility, and isolation, that can have adverse health consequences for older adults.
IMPAQ’s final report from our evaluation of the accessibility of American Job Centers (AJCs) for people with disabilities has been released by the US Department of Labor. As a part of this project, IMPAQ assessed and identified areas of improvement for AJCs through a web-based survey, focus groups, and 100 site visits.

Nada Rayyes and Kelley Akiya’s poster presentation “Tools for Evaluating Regional Collaboration on Education and Workforce Development Initiatives" was accepted at the 2017 Research and Planning Group Conference in San Francisco on April 20.
Stephanie Levin’s presentation on evaluating classroom lessons within the Common Core context has been accepted at the American Educational Research Association 2017 Annual Meeting. Stephanie co-authored the presentation with peers from the Preva Group.
The Maryland Workforce Association has accepted two IMPAQ presentations for their Raising the Bar Conference next month. Eileen Poe-Yamagata will present on serving workforce center customers with disabilities and Sonam Gupta will present on lessons learned from the @LIKE program.

Earlier this month, IMPAQ participated in the American Heart Association’s Wear Red Day and raised $1,120. Employees from across the country participated in the event to raise cardiovascular disease awareness through education and action.
