IMPAQ’s selection comes as a part of the HCPSS Department of Technology’s multi-phased strategic review of the school system’s technology program to meet current and future reporting needs.
“We are delighted to have been asked to undertake this important project,” said Slava Katz, Director of IMPAQ’s Technology Solutions Practice Area, who noted that the firm will partner with educational technology firm, ProActive School, Inc., and renowned educational consultant, Dr. Karlene McCormick-Lee on the project.
“We have a cross-functional team in place, including experts from IMPAQ’s Education Division, who will be taking a comprehensive look at how the HCPSS stores and organizes its data, how that information is transmitted and processed, who has access to it, the reporting processes in place, and what checks exist to ensure the quality and accuracy of stored data,” he added.
Katz emphasized that IMPAQ’s proven data management solution will provide HCPSS with tactical recommendations to resolve data-induced bottlenecks, as well as forward-thinking guidance on aligning HCPSS systems and technology with instructional and operational needs.
Dr. Cary Sennett, IMPAQ’s President, also welcomed the firm’s selection, noting that the goals of the project align directly with IMPAQ’s mission. “Our mission is to collaborate with our clients on refining programs, policies, and systems that ultimately improve peoples’ lives,” said Sennett.
“The HCPSS has more than 50,000 students across 74 schools and is the largest employer in Howard County with a workforce of close to 8,000 employees. By aiming to improve data systems that govern everything from student assessments, pupil transportation and food service systems, to point-of-sale systems and customer service databases, our work will have a direct impact on the lives of students, parents and teachers right here in our community,” he added.
