The Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA) announced today the awardees for the 2012 ETA Research Papers Program. The ETA Research Papers Program has awarded funding to the following Doctoral candidates: Ben Zou from University of Maryland, College Park; Xin Tang from Stony Brook University; Andrew Johnston from University of Pennsylvania; and Eliav Danziger from Princeton University for their original research on topics related to the public workforce system.

Earlier this year, the ETA had announced the availability of funding for the program, which seeks to support original research conducted by Doctoral candidates on topics related to the public workforce systems. The awardees will carry out policy relevant research on a variety of employment and training topics, including, but not limited to, understanding changing Labor Markets; improving Workforce System Infrastructure; and addressing the needs of Special Populations.

IMPAQ International, a Maryland-based research, evaluation and technical assistance firm, collaborated with the ETA to develop the program application requirements, application process, and evaluation criteria. IMPAQ also assisted ETA with the selection of the awardees for this year’s program.

The ETA intends to issue awards for the 2013 Research Papers Program this summer. ETA encourages prospective applicants to review the program’s Website (www.ETAresearchpapersprogram.IMPAQINT.com). The site contains further details about the application submission process and other important procedures for the 2013 program competition.
