IMPAQ Staff to Present at the Annual APPAM Research Conference
IMPAQ staff members will attend the 32nd Annual APPAM Research Conference, "Making Fair and Effective Policy in Difficult Times", to be held November 4-6, 2010, in Boston, MA.  Some of our presentations and posters at this forum are listed below:
  • " Developing Indicators to Measure Progress and Success in Long-Term Support Systems" Panel Session: Support Services for People with Disabilities, on Friday, November 5th from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.
  • "Level 1 Trauma Center Effects on Return to Work Outcomes" – Panel Session: Costs and Effects of Health Care, on Saturday, November 6th from 1:15 p.m. – 2:45 pm.

IMPAQ Staff to Present at the American Evaluation Association 2010 Annual Conference

Dr. Oswaldo Urdapilleta will present an “Overview of the Home and Community-based Services Demonstration Waiver Grant Program” during a session entitled, “Evaluating a National Medicaid Children's Mental Health Demonstration Grant Program,” at the American Evaluation Association 2010 Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas.  The panel presentation will be held on November 13th from 2:50 p.m. – 4:20 p.m.

IMPAQ staff members attended the American Economic Association’s (AEA) annual conference held January 3-5, 2010 in Atlanta, GA.  IMPAQ has used this forum for the past several years to interview prospective PhD candidates for research positions available in the company. IMPAQ Staff Presentation at the Children’s Mental Health Research and Policy Conference
Dr. Oswaldo Urdapilleta led a panel presentation at the 23rd Annual Children’s Mental Health Research and Policy Conference held in Tampa, FL from March 7-10, 2010. He presented on the Impact of a Multi-State HCBS Waiver on Children’s Functional Status.

IMPAQ Staff Present at the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM) Annual Research Conference
Drs. Mario Michaelides and Jacob Benus presented the results of their research on the identifying high-risk unemployment insurance recipients during a session entitled, “The Role of the UI Program During Recessions,” at the 31st Annual APPAM Research Conference held in Washington, DC in November 2009.  Dr. Peter Mueser also presented a paper at APPAM based on the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) evaluation in a session entitled “Evaluating WIA at State and Local Level.
 
Recovery and Reemployment Research Conference
The U.S. Department of Labor hosted the Recovery and Reemployment Research Conference on September 15-16, 2009 at the L’Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington, DC.  The conference, organized by IMPAQ International, was designed to give the workforce community an opportunity to engage with experts and colleagues to broaden their understanding of critical labor issues and challenges in the present economy.  Participants had the opportunity to learn about workforce strategies for green jobs, entrepreneurship, training, unemployment and reemployment service and research/policy tools to manage and improve systems.  More information is available at the Conference website: www.recoveryandreemployment.com.
