CDC’s Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention Issues

Our country is at a pivotal moment in the history of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Never before has such a wealth of evidence-based HIV prevention methods been available. In addition, the U.S. government has recommitted to its mission of achieving an “AIDS-Free Generation,” and the Obama Administration’s National HIV/AIDS Strategy includes ambitious goals for reducing new infections and closing current racial/ethnic gaps in HIV infection rates. In this complex and dynamic phase of the nation’s fight against HIV/AIDS, strong partner communications, relationships, and collaboration are critical to the CDC’s Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention’s (DHAP) success.

AIR is providing DHAP with communication support services including issues management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communication of HIV prevention science, programs, and policies. The work aims to develop and implement a robust and proactive communications strategy for DHAP.
