Over the past decade, IMPAQ International has led research and evaluations around major initiatives that have positively influenced the health of millions.
IMPAQ is helping the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), and the nation’s health systems and hospitals improve the delivery of care to all Americans. IMPAQ works with our clients to eliminate all-cause harm to patients, improve patient and family care experiences, and train health care professionals as high functioning teams.
IMPAQ has provided direct technical assistance to the CMS Partnership for Patients (PfP), which has yielded a significant reduction in hospital acquired conditions, saving 125,000 lives and $28 billion in health care costs. Our experts support CMS-funded hospital networks to help drive change and improve the quality of care patients receive.
IMPAQ also supports the National Implementation of TeamSTEPPS®, “the approach” when it comes to teaching health care providers how to coordinate care and function as high performing teams. Twenty-five percent of U.S. hospitals have implemented TeamSTEPPS, as well as health care organizations throughout the world. IMPAQ also supports TeamSTEPPS for Office-Based Care, Online, and Long-term Care.
In addition, IMPAQ is driving quality and patient safety through innovation. Our leadership of the CMS Strategic Innovation Engine (SIE) seeks to identify new strategies that can improve care. Innovations identified via the SIE are rapidly deployed and scaled through CMS networks to improve the nation’s health care delivery system.
