As Certified Government Meeting Professionals, IMPAQ conference and event managers have extensive experience with in-person and virtual events –including technology, staff, and best practices – for regional or national meetings, work sessions, and large-scale conferences.
IMPAQ conference and event management solutions are comprehensive and include a range of pre-, during-, and post-event activities, including: venue selection, travel management, secure registration and event website software, name badges, session descriptions, agendas, speaker logistics and biographies, participant list management, vendor management, branding and marketing, conference portals and apps, follow-up surveys, attendance and engagement statistics, and lessons learned.
For example, each year since 2004, IMPAQ has planned and managed the Welfare Research and Evaluation Conference (now the Research and Evaluation Conference on Self-Sufficiency) for the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation (OPRE) for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. This is a national conference for 500 to 700 Federal and State welfare officials and experts. IMPAQ plays a significant role, facilitating the submission and review of abstracts through an online portal, identifying potential speakers, organizing biographies and presentations, and assigning speakers to session tracks. In addition, IMPAQ supports OPRE with conference marketing, managing vendors and travel arrangements, and providing onsite logistical support (including live streaming), as well as the development and dissemination of conference materials. And from a design perspective, each year, IMPAQ creates a new conference visual identity and designs a wide range of meeting materials.
IMPAQ provides customized training based on program and audience needs. Delivery can be via classroom, online, workshop, broadcast, or telephone.
By combining subject matter expertise with experienced educators and technologists, IMPAQ has developed a strong track record of successful local and national training. IMPAQ training components include:
- Curriculum and materials development (electronic and hard copy),
- Resource identification and collection,
- Educator/trainer identification and logistics,
- Vendor management,
- Web resources,
- Module development,
- Final exams, and
- Other training logistics.
IMPAQ’s expert writers, editors, and desktop publishers can create highly specialized training, targeted to specific audiences, including Section 508 compliance and quality control. Using platforms that include Adobe Connect, IMPAQ produces live webinars accommodating multiple presenters and hosts question and answer sessions, which can be recorded and archived online.
An example of IMPAQ’s training and course development is its work for the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. For this project, IMPAQ managed a portfolio of more than 50 print and online educational products, conducting formative research and scientific literature reviews to produce evidence-based training publications. Staff formulated user-friendly language and eye-catching graphics to appropriately target a variety of demographic groups. These culturally relevant, 508-compliant products included a monthly electronic newsletter, fact sheets for healthcare providers, and dozens of consumer brochures, ecards, and manuals in English and Spanish. Publications were printed through the Government Publishing Office.
IMPAQ’s creative teams craft meaningful print and electronic communications for a wide range of government, non-profit, foundation, and private sector needs. We are accustomed to managing tight production deadlines while maintaining high quality.
Content development and information dissemination capabilities include:
- Scholarly and scientific research, writing, and editing;
- Video script writing and post production editing;
- Document management;
- Graphic design and illustration; and
- Marketing and branding.
IMPAQ produces large-scale reports, websites, apps, tip sheets, fact sheets, manuals, journal articles, best practices, case studies, logos, illustrations, advertisements, posters, and news articles for national media outlets. Marketing and dissemination services include email marketing, social media marketing, targeted direct mail campaigns, and managing services such as GovDelivery.
An example of IMPAQ’s communication activities is the firm’s work for the Office of Head Start (OHS), which includes the 300-page Early Childhood State Advisory Councils Final Report, 2015. IMPAQ was responsible for final editing, artwork, formatting, and report production. Final deliverables included a client-specific content style guide to provide a consistent set of guidelines to all writers and editors on future OHS projects. For OHS’s fiftieth year celebration, IMPAQ is producing five video shorts that highlight core Head Start values organized around key themes such as community partnerships, parents and families partnerships, professionalization of the early childhood education field, social and emotional development as the foundation for learning, and serving children with disabilities. The video shorts will complement blog posts, stories from the front lines, and toolkits to help local programs celebrate the themes, and the celebration will culminate in a national virtual celebration that will be live-streamed from Washington DC.
