IMPAQ is working with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to ensure that Medicare Advantage (Part C) and Prescription Drug Plans (Part D) follow important regulations regarding beneficiary safety, access to care, and financial risk. Our work leads to stronger guidance for these plans and a safer and better Medicare experience for beneficiaries.

Because the study topics vary, the input does as well. We explore everything from large Medicare claims data sets to custom administrative data collections designed in-house and surveys of plans and beneficiaries.

Our analyses are extensive. The goal is to describe not just what is happening (such as compliance rates or outliers), but also why (like identifying why plans struggle to follow regulations and learning about beneficiaries’ barriers to optimal care.) Our reports provide a complete picture of the area in question and allow CMS to take the appropriate action.

Our team includes managing directors, senior analysts, and associates, as well as experienced SAS programmers, and other researchers with backgrounds in CMS compliance research and experience using administrative data.
