IMPAQ International was contracted by the U.S. Department of Labor to study a sample of community colleges and their American Job Center partners to identify challenges, promising strategies and best practices regarding collaborations and retraining America’s workforce for in-demand industries.  Specific tasks included identifying sample community college / American Job Center pairs for site visits; conducting in-depth interviews and focus groups with stakeholders at community colleges and American Job Centers throughout the country; and conducting qualitative and quantitative data analyses to provide a comprehensive understanding of the interactions between community colleges and local workforce development systems.  IMPAQ delivered a Final Report summarizing the results of the analysis along with appropriate recommendations to the U.S. Department of Labor at the end of this contract.
