Mixed Methods Research

IMPAQ evaluated the effectiveness of Startup Quest™, a nationally recognized entrepreneurship training program. The program connects participants with successful CEOs and entrepreneurs who teach them how to transform an invention or discovery into a marketable product. The University of Florida and CareerSource North Central Florida developed Startup Quest™, and it is being funded through the Department of Labor’s Workforce Innovation Fund grant.

Our evaluation improves the program’s effectiveness related to startup development, wage increases, and self-employment. We used a mixed methods approach to understand its relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability and analyzed the baseline and follow-up data to measure the overall effects of Startup Quest™ and its impact on participants’ self-employment status.

Our team consisted of senior researchers, analysts, and local survey practitioners with decades of experience in mixed methods research, survey design, and sampling. They also have experience working with state and local agencies and performing evaluations of entrepreneurial programs.
