Under the MCC Impact Evaluation IDIQ contract vehicle, IMPAQ is supporting MCC’s mission by facilitating independent impact evaluations of MCC programs, projects, and activities proposed by eligible countries. IMPAQ provides recognized expertise in the field of economic development research, using advanced research methodologies and quasi-experimental designs. IMPAQ also provides technical assistance to MCC and Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) country staff to carry out required data collection activities.
Furthermore, IMPAQ contributes to the growing knowledge base on the effectiveness of development programs. IMPAQ is currently implementing impact evaluations for MCC of the Agricultural Development Program and Rural Land Governance Projects in Burkina Faso, and the Senegal Irrigation and Water Resource Management Project. These evaluations are examining the economic rate of return; cost-effectiveness; why goals, objectives and targets were or were not achieved; differences in the impact of the project activities by gender, age and income to the fullest extent possible; unintended results of the program (positive and negative); lessons learned applicable to other similar projects; and the long-term sustainability of results achieved through the MCC compact.
