The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Qualified Entity Certification Program (QECP) for Medicare data enables organizations to receive Medicare claims data under Parts A, B, and D. The QEs use this data to evaluate the performance of health care providers and suppliers.
IMPAQ has been the prime contractor for the QECP since 2011. Our familiarity with the history of this initiative and in-depth knowledge of policy operations allows us to continue to successfully implement QECP activities.
The QECP keeps CMS informed of QE activities, questions, and potential concerns. The QECP team maintains detailed status trackers, policy question trackers with proposed responses, and an online customer service help desk to track communication between the QECP and QEs. Also, through ongoing program administration and monitoring of entity and applicant activities, the QECP can quickly provide CMS with information on QE activities and propose policy decisions and recommendations for CMS’ consideration.
Our team includes research associates and analysts. Utilizing their cross-sectional knowledge of policy and program analysis, technical assistance, data security, and performance measurement, the team supports CMS in the day-to-day management of the QECP.
