The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Strategic Innovation Engine will move innovative, evidence-based quality practices rapidly from research to implementation into the Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement (QIN-QIO) program and the greater health care community.

We, along with our partners Abt Associates, HealthInsight, the Health Research & Educational Trust, and Pantheon, are developing, implementing, and managing the processes to identify, evaluate, and spread these practices. The ultimate goal is to help CMS achieve their three-part goal of better health care, better health, and smarter spending.

Our previous work in this area includes large-scale, national quality improvement and patient safety projects such as the Partnership for Patients, the National Action Plan to Reduce Healthcare Associated Infections, and TEAMSTEPPS. On this project, our team includes experienced quality improvement and patient safety professionals.
