Ms. Maggie Lohnes

Maggie Lohnes, RN, Clinical Quality Measure Specifications Lead, is responsible for leading electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) development and maintenance within IMPAQ’s Health Division.

Expertise

Ms. Lohnes is a recognized expert in health care public policy, electronic and manually abstracted clinical quality measurement, clinical terminologies, electronic health record design and implementation, clinical workflow, clinical research, and automated clinical trial recruitment. Her work has involved facilitating Federal interagency workgroups and technical expert panels, developing a prototype electronic health care quality reporting system, designing quality measure specifications, identifying and resolving errors, and collaborating with clinical quality measure developers. She has served on the National Quality Forum Industry Council, the Electronic Health Record Association (EHRA) Quality Measure Workgroup, and the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Quality and Public Policy Committees.

Clients

Ms. Lohnes has supported clients including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ) and the Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). She has collaborated with the National Quality Forum (NQF), The Joint Commission (TJC), the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the American Hospital Association (AHA), and the American Medical Association Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement (AMA PCPI).

Prior Experience

Prior to joining IMPAQ, Ms. Lohnes served as Healthcare Principal for the MITRE Corporation, Director of Quality and Regulatory Programs for McKesson Connected Care and Analytics, Public Policy Advisor for Q-Centrix, LLC, and Director of Provider Relations and Informatics for Anolinx, LLC. Her hospital experience includes Administrator for Clinical Information Management at MultiCare Health System and Physician Computer Services Manager at Huntington Hospital.

Education

Ms. Lohnes earned an RN from Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center School of Nursing, a BA in English from University of California, Los Angeles, and will complete a Master of Nursing from the University of Washington, Tacoma, in June 2019. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), a Fellow with the Health Information and Management Systems Society, and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing.
