According to Forbes Magazine, Carolyn McKecuen, president of the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Foundation says “We want the kids, parents, teachers and workplaces to all help students see the value of their education by linking it to the world of work…This day gives them the opportunity to learn and be exposed to their dream jobs.”
Many of us here at IMPAQ feel like we have found our dream jobs, in a company culture that is full of smart, hardworking, and nice people. We felt our sense of community and purpose today as we participated in Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.
All three of our main offices (Columbia, MD; Washington, DC & Oakland, CA) were abuzz with the voices and enthusiasm of children. We served a bagel breakfast, held fun activities, and heard a presentation about a trip to Africa from our founder, Dr. Jake Benus.
Many of our staff’s children had the opportunity to see first hand what their parents do each day, to meet our co-workers, and to learn how a career can make a positive impact in people’s lives. Many of them also “helped” their parents with their work – making the world a better place!
Take Your Daughters & Sons to Work Day was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about our co-workers families and their interests.
