Project Updates

To provide the Santa Clara County Public Health Department with information on how to measure and improve their SNAP Program, access at farmer’s markets, and public park activity levels, Alberto Ortega Hinojosa and Ann Middleton recently completed trainings on program evaluation, on conducting Intercept Surveys at farmers’ markets, and instruments to measure physical activity in parks.

Jennifer Pinder and the Communications Solutions team have wrapped up the 2016 Research and Evaluation Conference on Self-Sufficiency, sponsored by the DHS Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation. This is the 11th time IMPAQ (formerly as ESI) has managed the conference, each year growing the event. This year’s conference hosted over 1,100 speakers and participants, and included live streaming and a mobile app.

And we have several news items from our International Development Division:

  • Shannon Howard is in Ghana as the M&E lead for the USAID Government to Government workshop, and
  • Roman Ponos and Andrew Green recently returned from Senegal where we supported our prime NRCE in launching the multi-year, multi-million dollar ACCES program which intends to improve nutrition through investments in water, sanitation, and hygiene.

The IMPAQ Strategy team recently facilitated a one-day meeting of the American Society for Clinical Pathology's National Pathology Quality Registry Steering Committee. IMPAQ Strategy's team will work over the next 12 months to develop the clinical and technical content of the registry, establish a technology platform, and develop a marketing and communications campaign.
