Presentations & Publications

IMPAQ’s research paper, “Culturally Responsive Adolescent Pregnancy and Sexually Transmitted Infection Prevention Program for Middle School Students in Hawai‘i,” was recently published in the American Journal of Public Health. The paper, co-authored by IMPAQ Senior Research Associate Yasuyo Abe, Principal Research Associate Linda Toms Barker, and Senior Research Analyst Vincent Chan, examines the effectiveness of Pono Choices, a culturally responsive adolescent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention program targeting middle school youths in Hawai‘i.

IMPAQ will be presenting at the 2017 Aging in America Conference sponsored by the American Society on Aging. The workshop, titled “Food Insecurity Among Older Adults: Screening and Community Intervention Strategies,” will build upon our work with the AARP Foundation exploring food security screening for older adult patients in primary care settings. IMPAQ Senior Research Associate, Jennifer Pooler, will co-present with peers from the Food Research & Action Center and AARP Foundation.

IMPAQ Managing Director and Principal Associate Fran O’Reilly’s article, “The Cost of Increasing In-School Time: Evidence from the Massachusetts Expanded Learning Time Initiative,” was published in the Leadership and Policy in Schools journal. The article reports findings from a resource-cost study conducted in four schools that participated in the Massachusetts Expanded Learning Time Initiative.
