Project Updates

Sonam Gupta, Nicholas Bill, Zachary Miller, Andrés Romualdo, and Vanessa Hoffman recently completed the Final Evaluation Report for the TAACCCT grant funded SC ACCELERATE program. The program, implemented by a consortium of six colleges in South Carolina, aimed to improve and expand educational opportunities and career pathways for adult learners to prepare them for careers in advanced manufacturing. IMPAQ served as the third-party evaluator for this program and was responsible for all components of the evaluation process.

IMPAQ’s ACT-On TAACCCT grant team recently presented their evaluation results in a web-based report to representatives from Tyler Junior College. The representatives visited our Columbia, MD office from Tyler, TX for the presentation. The project team includes Karen Armstrong, Lauren Lochocki, Samuel Kofi Ampaabeng, Colleen McLelland, Luke Patterson, and Perry Gorelik.

Publications & Presentations

This month, the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) released a new guide that IMPAQ helped develop for the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Midwest. The guide will help education leaders use a survey tool to assess to what degree schools are engaging in practices associated with high performance. The IMPAQ team included Phyllis Weinstock, Yasuyo Abe, and Kelley Akiya. View and download the complete guide here.

Sarah Pedersen presented “Care Coordination Measure Development” at the CMS 2016 Medicare Advantage (MA) & Prescription Drug Plan Fall Conference on September 8. During her presentation, Sarah shared IMPAQ's work developing measures that assess care coordination efforts of MA plans. She presented alongside staff from CMS and the National Committee for Quality Assurance.

Leanne Clark-Shirley was an invited speaker at the 15th Anniversary Celebration of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Doctoral Program in Gerontology. Last week, Leanne talked about her career path, current role at IMPAQ, and opportunities in policy research and program evaluation for gerontology students.
