Project Updates

The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) awarded IMPAQ International two prizes from their Real-Time Crime Forecasting Challenge. In the Large Business Category, IMPAQ made the best possible prediction for the location of burglaries occurring in Portland, Oregon for 1-month and 2-month periods. Earlier this year, Senior Research Analyst Elnaz Safarha conducted a month-long site visit in Laos, providing technical guidance and training to our consultants and data collection partner for the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education Learning and Engaging All in Primary School (LEAPS) II project. Senior Research Analyst Clancy Bertane’s poster presentation, “Going Undercover: Using an Innovative Data Collection Method to Answer Tough Research Questions,” has been accepted at the American Evaluation Association conference.

Research Associate Bruno Gasperini’s presentation, “Self-Employment Training Programs in the Aftermath of the Great Recession: Evidence from a Randomized Experiment in Florida,” was accepted at the Southern Economic Association Conference.

Senior Research Analyst Vincent Chan’s presentation, "Building Macros for Quick Survey Scoring," has been accepted at the Western Users of SAS Software Educational Forum and Conference.
