Project Updates

Last week, Donna Perlmutter and Dr. Leanne Clark-Shirley Donna traveled to Jackson, Mississippi to train interviewers for this year’s fielding of the National Core Indicators--Aging and Disabilities survey. They were joined by our prime contractor FEi Systems and our sub contractor Vital Research.

Dr. Maurice Kugler is now a member of two Thematic Interest Group (TIGs) in the American Evaluation Association (AEA), namely the Youth Focused Evaluation TIG and the International and Cross Cultural Evaluation TIG. As a part of these groups, Maurice reviewed proposals for the 2017 AEA conference.

Presentations & Publications

We have recently released an issue brief on Internet use among older adults in the United States and the implications of low rates of Internet use for program enrollment and benefit utilization. Visit our website issue briefs page for the full document.

Jennifer Pooler and Dr. Mithuna Srinivasan’s presentation, “SNAP participation and cost-related medication nonadherence among older adults with chronic conditions,” has been accepted for the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting this November.

Dr. Chris Zhang’s presentation, “The Effect of Casinos on the Non-Gambling Economy: Evidence from Nationwide Household Spending Data,” for the Consumer Expenditure Surveys Methods Symposium and Microdata Users’ Workshop last year was recently cited in the featured article on the Bureau of Labor Statistics Monthly Labor Review.

Upcoming Conferences

IMPAQ will present, sponsor, and exhibit at the AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting, June 25-27, New Orleans, LA.

IMPAQ will exhibit at Innovate Today, a technology summit hosted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, on June 27 in Silver Spring, MD.
