Project Updates

Earlier this month, IMPAQ held a webinar, “A New Look at Ways to Minimize Work Disability and Job Loss after Illness or Injury,” for the Department of Labor Office of Disability Employment Policy Stay-at-Work/Return-to-Work Policy Collaborative Support project, led by IMPAQ researchers Linda Toms Barker and Kay Magill. Hosted by the NIOSH Center for Workers’ Compensation Studies, the webinar reported on the collaborative’s recent work to develop policies, programs, and practices to support continued employment of workers with injuries, serious illnesses, or disabilities. Presentations & Publications

IMPAQ Research Associate Dr. Karishma Desai recently published two articles related to her previous opioid use research. The Fifth Vital Sign: Postoperative Pain Predicts 30-day Readmissions and Subsequent Emergency Department Visits was published in the Annals of Surgery and Drug-Free Interventions to Reduce Pain or Opioid Consumption After Total Knee Arthroplasty was published in JAMA Surgery.
