Labor Experts Present at the 2016 NAWDP Annual Conference

IMPAQ will present and exhibit at the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) Annual Conference in Orlando, FL. The event gathers 900 workforce professionals from across the nation, including: job developers, community college representatives, job corps professionals, WIB executive directors, and educators and trainers. On May 25, Ms. Eileen Poe-Yamagata, Dr. Neha Nanda, and Dr. Sonam Gupta will present “Why Evaluate the Public Workforce System” from 2:00 PM-3:15 PM in Lake Eola A.

This session will provide workforce professionals with valuable information as they begin to think about and prepare for conducting evaluations under WIOA. It will also offer real world examples and highlight different evaluation tools and techniques.

On May 26, Dr. Sonam Gupta will co-present “Serving Disconnected Young Adults: Lessons Learned from @LIKE Program” from 1:45 PM-3:00 PM in Lake Mizell A. Dr. Gupta will co-present with Lori Strumpf, President of Strumpf Associates: Center for Strategic Change.

This workshop will focus on unique and intensive recruitment, outreach, and engagement strategies employed by the Linking Innovation, Knowledge, and Employment (@LIKE) program to serve disconnected young adults. It will also present preliminary findings on the program’s overall impacts.


NAWDP is the premier organization representing workforce development and human resource professionals. They support the workforce system by developing policies that strengthen workforce development program and provide access to resources and professional development.
