High-quality teaching is central to student success. Educators can empower students, families, and communities to achieve a better future. The U.S. Department of Education and many state and local education policy makers rely on evidence to create programs that recruit, select, and prepare teachers, principals, and administrators.
Our multidisciplinary teams combine leading experts in education policy, technical assistance, and evaluation methods to evaluate and enhance educator effectiveness. Over the past decade, IMPAQ has led research and evaluations around major initiatives that have positively influenced the lives of millions of educators and students.
For example, we are currently studying the impact and implementation of the Reading Apprenticeship Model, an approach to improving subject area literacy through both face-to-face and online professional development for teachers. IMPAQ also supports the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in their effort to collect, analyze, and use data to inform their investments in teacher development programs and to give educators tools to use in identifying Common Core-aligned lessons.
