Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), operated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service, is one of the most important government safety net programs. At the same time that caseloads and needs have grown, funding constraints at the state and Federal levels have made access to services difficult.
With our extensive technical expertise in SNAP policy and business process reengineering, IMPAQ helps agencies innovate and reform systems to ensure that resources are used in the most efficient manner and can provide high-quality assistance to the most vulnerable among us.
IMPAQ is a data-driven and results oriented firm. The technical assistance we deliver has helped agencies reduce error rates, reduce application processing time, and significantly reduce the trafficking of SNAP benefits in several states.
One example is the work we delivered for the Colorado Department of Human Services to improve delivery of state nutrition assistance claims with a business process reengineering analysis and recommendations. Our findings helped Colorado establish clear guidelines and procedures for reducing error rates across the state. To help other states benefit from this work, we published a five part webinar with key findings and lessons learned.
