Knowledge Translation for Employment Research Center (KTER)

Through 2020, AIR operated the Knowledge Translation for Employment Research Center (KTER), which developed and tested knowledge translation strategies designed to help vocational rehabilitation agencies and businesses find, understand, and use research related to employing people with disabilities. The Center identified research findings that improved the lives of individuals with disabilities and, armed with this critical research, determined what informational needs are most pressing for individuals with disabilities and their families, vocational rehabilitation practitioners, the business community, and policymakers.

The KTER Center provided technical assistance and training to grantees to plan and engage in knowledge translation activities. The Center aimed to enhance grantees' understanding of KT strategies, and then supported them to conduct their own research, development, and dissemination.

The KTER Center was funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR).
