Measurements for Accountability to All People in Policy Solutions (Equity MAAPPS)

Opioid settlement dollars, cannabis tax revenue, and other funding streams have provided an opportunity for some states to consider different ways of investing in solutions to address the overdose crisis and responses to the needs of their communities.
The proposed process is both collaborative and adaptive, rooted in the principles of fair opportunity and justice.
The project introduces the MAAPPS process, which seeks to support states in understanding how Black, Indigenous, and communities of color have historically experienced drug policy innovations and investments and develop holistic measures of success for drug control regimes to help states align spending with strategies promoting restorative justice.
